  • I am currently reading:

This is a dark tale. The characters are not well developed and I am left with more questions then answers. Somehow, the story is haunting and I continue to read. I am not a fan of the 'darkness' but the tale is believable enough for me to keep turning the pages.

I have been known to put many a book down and never finish it......at other times, I am dogged and will fight to the finish.....

I will continue to read and actually finish this one, but peculiarly, I am not sure why.

  • I guess that Xanga is more straightforward to learn, but Livejournal is not really that difficult. You need to learn a little code, but it is pretty easy to learn it - anyone with a basic knowledge of html can understand it. (It is a much bigger Network than Xanga.) I think that Xanga is trying to compete - which is why they keep going down a lot...they are adding too many users for the size of their servers.

Xanga maintenance is a weekly process...

  • I really enjoyed the book and it isn't my sort of thing either.  At the moment I am immersed in animal behaviour books!

re your blog yesterday, (I can't seem to find the comments bit to click, but it is only 7 a.m. and I haven't had coffee or put my brains on yet), I am an admirer in some respects of the Amish.  But all these groups of people who refuse to participate and say they take nothing so why should they give anything are really rather hypocritical. Although, to be fair, they can't really help their hypocrisy and maintain their rigid ways without leaving the country or compromising and paying taxes.

They take advantage of the US army to defend them, they take advantage of the roads that are built, they take advantage of the constitution that guarantees them the freedom to do as they please without consideration for anyone else.

Along with rights comes duties.  This is what life is all about - jobs, marriage, contracts...  but not for them.  They only take (passively).

I am not Christian or American and have no ax to grind, and I suppose this is a bit devil's advocate, but if these people weren't the religious sect they say they are but something else that was unpopular, say hell's angels who just wanted to do their own thing in peace and not pay taxes, well I think people wouldn't give them as much sympathy.

Please don't take this as a flame, just feeling a bit argumentative this morning but from a very friendly point of view.

  • go get them soap......but I think you got the wrong blog...unless that sand mermaid is really amish in disguise and is sending out messages that I am not aware of.

better get another cup of coffee

  • Heehee, sorry.  Wonder who the comments were for?   Someone literate and politically in another arena from me anyway.  Whatever it was really got me going though

See what happens is that I am not really posting right now and may not do so again, certainly I am going to stop Xanga very soon, so in the mornings I surf around the blogs reading and enjoying and commenting and giving out those all important totally useless eProps, without reference to my own or to my SIR list. So I never know where I am anymore.

That doesn't make sense either.  Seems like I'm having a hard time today DrE!

  • BOOKS SUCK...I LIKE ORANGE CRAYONS

  • I read all the time for doing magazine reviews. Sometimes I love what I am reading...and other times is a laborious task.

  • Sometimes it feels good to finish it anyway. But I have a few that I only read half of and quit. In particular, Perfect Victim.

The mermaid had quite a different effect on me than on Soap
